Last weekend I was a guest of Tyalgum Music Festival. Tyalgum is in Northern Rivers, NSW which is a 2.5-hour journey from Brisbane. A beautiful spot and unspoilt small country town. The Tyalgum Produce Store is a gem.

The Community Hall has a marvellous acoustic which smiles on singers, strings and harp. I’d been commissioned to write a round-up review of its which you can read here.

Katherine Willison, the artistic director, has grand aspirations, she presented a cameo, current day costumed opera The Marriage of Figaro no less. The enthusiastic, talented solo crew were former Opera Q Young Artists and students at the Queensland Conservatorium.
